(901) 493-1219Hail, wind, and Tennessee storms damage Memphis-area roofs every spring. AJ's Roofing handles the entire insurance claim for you — free inspection, on-site adjuster meeting, full roof replacement. You pay your deductible, we handle the rest.
Why file a claim
Almost every Tennessee homeowner's insurance policy includes coverage for storm, hail, and wind damage to your roof. You've been paying that premium for years. If a storm has rolled through your zip code in the last 12 months — and they roll through Memphis constantly — there's a strong chance you have a valid claim worth thousands of dollars in roof work.
Even pea-sized hail bruises asphalt shingles and shortens roof life by years. You usually can't see it from the ground.
Memphis straight-line winds regularly lift, crease, and tear shingles. One missing shingle voids the manufacturer warranty on the rest.
Falling limbs, blown shingles from neighbors, and flying debris all qualify under most policies as covered storm damage.
If a storm caused the underlying damage, the leak — and any interior water damage — is also covered.
Mid-South tornado outbreaks (especially March–May) are almost always covered events with expedited claim handling.
If a tree falls on your roof during a storm, the roof and tree removal are typically both covered, minus your deductible.
How it works
We've walked thousands of Mid-South homeowners through this exact process. Here's what it looks like from the first phone call to the last shingle.
We climb the roof and document every shingle, dent, and bruise with date-stamped photos and a written report.
If damage warrants it, we help you call your insurer, give them the right storm date, and request an adjuster.
We meet the adjuster on your roof. We walk every slope with them so nothing legitimate gets missed.
Insurance approves the scope. We review it line-by-line and file supplements if anything was undervalued.
We tear off, install, and clean up — usually in one day. You pay your deductible. We invoice the rest to insurance.
No cost to inspect, no cost to file, no cost to meet your adjuster. We only get paid when your insurance pays for the work — and you only owe your deductible.
Why Memphis homeowners choose us
AJ's Roofing & Restoration has been working with Memphis-area insurance claims for 20+ years. We know which adjusters work which neighborhoods, which carriers under-scope what, and exactly what evidence makes a claim stick. That experience is the difference between a denied claim and a fully-funded new roof.
Service area
We handle roof insurance claims throughout Shelby County, the eastern suburbs, and North Mississippi — same-day inspections in most cases.
FAQ
Start with a free inspection so you know what damage exists and whether it's worth filing. If damage is claim-worthy, call your insurance company's claims line (it's on the back of your policy or insurance card), give them the storm date, and request an adjuster. We'll meet that adjuster on your roof, walk every slope with them, and make sure nothing legitimate gets denied. Most Memphis homeowners have their claim approved within 2–3 weeks.
Generally no — storm and hail damage is considered an 'act of God' and is not weighted against you the way an at-fault liability claim would be. Tennessee insurers may raise rates across an entire region after a major storm event, but that happens whether or not you file. Talk to your agent if you're unsure; we never push customers to file a claim that isn't worth it.
Most Tennessee homeowner policies give you 12 months from the date of loss (the storm date) to file. A few carriers allow longer, a few shorter — check your policy. After 12 months most claims are auto-denied even if the damage is obvious, so don't wait. We can help you pull the closest storm date from NOAA records for your zip code.
If the claim is approved, you pay only your deductible — typically $1,000–$2,500 in Memphis. Insurance pays for the rest of the roof, the tear-off, the underlayment, the disposal, and any code-required upgrades. Our inspection and claim representation are free. There is no cost to find out whether you have a claim — call (901) 493-1219.
It happens — adjusters miss damage, especially on cooler days when hail bruises haven't fully shown. If we believe the denial is wrong, we'll help you file a supplement or request a re-inspection at no charge. We've gotten dozens of initially-denied Memphis claims approved on second review.
No. You have the legal right to choose your own roofing contractor in Tennessee — your insurance can suggest one, but they cannot require it. Most insurance 'preferred' programs pay roofers less per square, which means cheaper materials and rushed installs. Hire the contractor you trust; insurance pays the same agreed amount either way.

"I've had bad luck with roofing contractors in the past. I found these guys on Google because I needed a contractor for my insurance claim. They were extremely friendly and took care of everything. They did an awesome job — I will definitely recommend them to all my friends!"
"AJ's did a great job on my roof! They were fast, professional, friendly, and responsive. My insurance company had refused to replace the damaged roof in the past, and they got them to do it — and repaired the fence blown down in the storm that caused the damage, too. VERY happy I hired them!"
"AJ's did a fantastic job on my house! Jeanette was a pleasure to work with and everything was done in a timely, professional manner at a great price! After the work was completed, they cleaned up after themselves and checked with me and my wife to make sure we were happy with the job."
